Submission Guidelines:

Applied Linguistics and Pedagogy Studies Journal (ALPSJ) 

Volume 1, Issue 1

The Department of English Studies and Culture, Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, University Moulay Ismail – Meknès, is thrilled to announce the inaugural issue of theApplied Linguistics and Pedagogy Studies Journal (ALPSJ) . We invite researchers, practitioners, and educators from diverse fields to submit original, high-quality manuscripts that contribute to this exciting new interdisciplinary dialogue.

Theme: Shaping the Future: Language, AI, and the Power to Transform

This inaugural issue explores the transformative potential of language and AI in shaping our future. We welcome contributions that address the following themes:

  • The Language of Power: How language constructs and perpetuates power structures, and how it can be used to promote equity and social justice.
  • AI for Empowerment: The role of AI in empowering individuals, communities, and societies through enhanced language learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Ethical Considerations and Policy Implications: Examining the ethical, social, and political ramifications of AI technologies in relation to language and communication.
  • Future Directions: Visionary approaches and innovative solutions for leveraging language and AI to create a more equitable and sustainable future.

Manuscript Preparation:

  • File Format: Submit your manuscript in a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) file format.
  • Word Count: Manuscripts should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, excluding references.
  • Formatting:
    • Use A4 paper size with the following margins: 2.5 cm (left and right), 4 cm (top), 3 cm (bottom).
    • Use Times New Roman font throughout.
    • Font sizes:
      • Title: 16 pt, bold, all caps
      • Author names: 12 pt, bold
      • Affiliation: 12 pt, italic
      • Correspondence: 12 pt, italic
      • Abstract: 11 pt, bold, first letter of each word capitalized
      • Keywords: 11 pt, bold
      • Main text: 12 pt
    • Conjunctions and prepositions in the title should be capitalized.
  • Citations and References: Cite all sources using the American Psychological Association (APA) style. Use reference management software (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley) to ensure accuracy.
  • Plagiarism: Do not include plagiarized, obscene, libelous, or defamatory material. All work must be original. Manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism using iThenticate, and the similarity index should not exceed 10%.
  • Page Numbers: Do not insert page numbers.
  • Acknowledgements: Acknowledge any individuals or organizations who have contributed to your research.
  • Manuscript Structure:
    • Title: Clear, concise, and informative.
    • Authors: Include full names and affiliations.
    • Correspondence: Provide the email address of the corresponding author.
    • Abstract: A concise summary of the research (150-250 words).
    • Keywords: Provide 3-5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the paper.
    • Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, its significance, and the main aims of the study.
    • Methodology: Describe the research methods used, including data collection and analysis techniques.
    • Findings: Present the results of your study, using tables, figures, or other visual aids as necessary.
    • Discussion: Interpret the findings, relate them to existing literature, and discuss their implications.
    • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and their significance, and discuss future directions for research.
    • References: List all cited sources in alphabetical order according to APA guidelines.
